Workshop Oct 4th – 5th 2017 11 am – 4 pm
Public protest Oct 7th 2017 at New Performance Turku Festival Club
@ TEHDAS Teatteri / Manilla, Itäinen Rantakatu 64, Turku
Performance workshop with award winning British artist Scottee investigating tension, anger and public protest! Over two days you’ll create short, autobiographical performance that is loud, aggressive, rooted in social politics about the stuff you Finn’s and you who are living in Finland like to keep to yourselves. This is your chance at making people listen to your point of view, create some amazing work and do some karaoke!
Everyone is welcome to apply but we encourage artists, thinkers and fakers from marginalized groups to come forward and join our gang! This workshop will be in English but the performance you make can be performed in any language!
Sign up before Sep 15th 2017 at firstname.lastname@example.org.
GO F**K YOURSELF! is produced by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland and part of the Out loud! -project by Yhteisötaide VOL.2 -network.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Scottee is a British artist whose work is often about outsiderness; race, sexuality, class, age and gender, creating spaces where the perceived underdog is celebrated, at the forefront and no longer ignorable – allowing for uncomfortable conversations to happen.
Scottee is not easily definable; artist, troublemaker, loudmouth and attention seeker. His work is live, brash, clumsy and will often leave you a bit annoyed, overwhelmed but never impartial.
In 2010 Scottee won the title of Time Out Performer of the Year, his debut solo tour The Worst of Scottee won Total Theatre Award for Innovation in 2013 and in 2015 he was included on Independent’s Rainbow List as one of Britain’s most influential LGBTQI people.
Scottee is currently an associate artist at Duckie and co-host on BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends.
