New Performance Turku Festival wished Eero Yli-Vakkuri’s Trans-Horse-project a safe trip for their long, 300km ride from Turku to Helsinki. The farewell party on Tuesday August the 19th was accompanied by media, invited guests and emeritus horticulturist Arno Kasvi. Kasvi curated a rose for Yli Vakkuri to transport to Helsinki for New Performance Turku Festival’s artist Essi Kausalainen. Kausalainen will take care of the rose and take it back to Turku as a part of her performance installation in Titanik-gallery in October. The rose will travel with Yli-Vakkuri’s entourage for appr. 30 kilometers per day.
Hevoslinja is a project that researches the ways of travelling in the oil-free world of the future. The project culminates in the riding trip from Turku to Helsinki. Two of Yli-Vakkuri’s Trans-Horse -performances will be seen on the New Performance Turku Festival in October 2014: Introduction to horselogical thinking in the Night Vision Club on Friday the 3rd of October at 9.30pm, and Trans-Horse – a walk & talk accompanied by the horse on Sunday the 5th of October at 2 pm.
