Tiia Kasurinen: The Life of Harmony: Extended
Durational performance, the space opens up for audience throughout the evening
Saturday 19.10.2019, at 18:30, 19:30, 20:30, 21:30
Manilla Studio, Itäinen Rantakatu 64, Turku
The Life of Harmony is a durational solo work inspired by female-looking objects and robots, indulging in the themes of dystopia, post-humanism, sexualisation and objectification. The slow-phased and minimalistic performance invites its spectator into a meditative yet uncomfortable state, where they have the opportunity to investigate their usage of gaze.
With the help of theatre makeup and physical practices, the performer becomes a doll-like object to, among other things, practice embodiment of various female-gendered objects. The performance focuses on itself, leaving a space for the audience to look, feel, objectify and have an inner dialogue.
The performance is ongoing during the whole event. The performance space will be opening and closing from the audience.
