Titanik Gallery
Titanik Gallery is one of Turku’s most important spaces for contemporary art of all forms. Titanik Gallery has been run by the Arte Association since 1988 and organizes projects, residencies, workshops and events, not just in the gallery space but often out in the city as well. The museum is dedicated especially to modern art but it also brings forward contemporary and experimental art. Joshua Sofaer’s performance Object of Love in WAM is a chance for the members of the audience to have one to one relationship counselling. Kutomo is a contemporary art space in Turku founded by Ehkä-production in 2009. Kutomo is a space, place, studio, gallery and a room in which performances from different art fields are organized all year round. The festival opening takes place in Kutomo. Kutomo is also the place to see dancer and choreographer Nada Gambier with her Action Scénique group and Tero Nauha’s performance Life In Bytom. Dance Theatre ERI was founded in 1989 by the well-known Finnish dancer-choreographers Tiina Lindfors, Lassi Sairela and Eeva Soini. The theatre presents approximately 130 shows per year, 3-4 of which are premiere performances. Robin Deacon’s performance White Balance and his documentary movie about the late American performance artist Stuart Sherman will take place in the theatre. TEHDAS theatre is located on the bank of Aura River in the Makasiini hall of the Manilla building. The theatre has 6-8 premiers of their own productions per year and several visiting performances and club events.
